Our Company Leaders

Tom Podewils

As President of AILCO Equipment Finance Group, Tom is responsible for the strategic and operational direction of the company.

Prior to joining AILCO in 2008, Tom spent 25 years with M&I Equipment Finance Company (now part of BMO Harris), where he held various executive, management and sales positions, including President from 2000-2007.

Tom is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh and the Equipment Leasing and Finance Association’s Lease Institute at Columbia University.  He has served as President of the Wisconsin Association of Equipment Lessors and is also active in charitable organizations.

Lee Fischer

Lee serves as Treasurer of AILCO Equipment Finance Group and provides accounting, tax and reporting direction for the company.

In addition to his duties with AILCO Lee serves a similar role for Elkin Operations LLC, the parent company of AILCO, as well various other Elkin related entities. Lee’s involvement with the Elkin group of companies dates back to 1984.

Mr. Fischer is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and received his CPA certification in 1978.

Mick Uzendoski
Business Development

Mick is responsible for developing business opportunities with equipment end users, through vendor relationships and referrals from financial partners in the Minnesota and the Northwest Wisconsin marketplace.

He brings 30+ years of extensive experience in equipment financing, joining AILCO in January 2016 after 16+ years as Vice President/Sales Manager for Kraus-Anderson Capital.  He is a Bachelor of Business Administration graduate of the University of Nebraska Lincoln with an Accounting Major.

Justin Masterman
Business Development

Justin is responsible for developing business opportunities in the Illinois marketplace. Prior to joining AILCO in 2014 , Justin had 9 years of finance and credit experience in commercial banking serving the small business community within the Chicago suburban market.

He currently serves as an Ambassador for the Western Suburbs Chapter of the Small Business Advocacy Council (SBAC) and is a graduate of Augustana College in Rock Island, Il. where he obtained his B.A. in Economics and Finance with a minor in General Music.

Tim D’Anza
Business Development

Tim is responsible for the development of relationships with both equipment vendors and end-users while partnering with bankers, accountants and attorneys providing financing solutions to their clients.  He has over 30 years of experience in the structuring and management of many types of transactions across diversified lines of equipment.  Located in Chicago, his focus is on relationships in the Midwest with the opportunity to provide nationwide service.

He has a Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from Loyola University of Chicago.

Mark Sorensen
Vice President

Mark joined the company in 2012 as the Operations Manager.  His scope of responsibility includes credit review, collections and equipment management and the documentation of all AILCO transactions.

Prior to joining AILCO, Mark brings 25 years of experience in banking, equipment finance (19 years with M&I Equipment Finance) and insurance agency ownership.  He is a Bachelor of Business Administration graduate of the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee.

Kristopher DeMent
Portfolio Manager

As Portfolio Manager, Kristopher is responsible for monitoring and maintaining the credit quality of AILCO’s portfolio.  His duties include credit review, collections and equipment management.

Prior to joining the group in 2008 Kristopher held various administrative positions in the financial and construction industries.  He is a 2002 graduate of the University of Wisconsin Whitewater with a BBA degree in Finance.

Susan Averbeck
Accounting Manager

Susan is responsible for managing the day to day accounting and sales and property tax work for AILCO Equipment Finance Group. Her background includes experience in the fields of public accounting, healthcare accounting and executive experience in the broadcast software industry.

Susan is a Bachelor of Business Administration graduate of Lakeland College where she majored in Accounting.
